This past weekend I had the opportunities to shoot on Saturday and Sunday! Saturday was an early morning (before sunrise) shoot in the Silo District in the Waterfront. This was organized by Basil from Cape of Storms Photographic Group. We were about 8 great photographers gathering in the Waterfront and had a fantastic time experimenting with light and lenses. Afterwards Wilma and myself even got a ride in a Police boat around the harbour.
On Sunday I went with a photographer friend around the Coast to Kleinmond and from there to Franschhoek and Stellenbosch in search of Sunbirds. The weather was rainy so no luck in shooting any birds. Passing the almost empty Theewaterskloof dam I saw some great opportunities to capture this disaster in a way to reflect the state of opur water crisis in the Western Cape. The images I got are stunning, but also very sad.
